Job description

Team Lead Production

Location: Wijk bij Duurstede, The Netherlands

In short

As Team Lead Production at AEGIR-Marine, you stand at the operational core of our technical execution. You lead a multidisciplinary team consisting of both office-based Production Engineers and hands-on Workshop Engineers. From initial technical assessments and project preparation to final assembly, testing, and dispatch, you ensure our customer projects are technically sound, delivered on time, and built to the highest quality standards. You empower your team, break operational silos, and continuously optimize our internal production and repair processes.

Your Responsibilities

You provide day-to-day functional leadership, oversee technical integrity, and serve as the vital operational bridge between production and other departments:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and support the Production Team. Set daily priorities, manage workload distribution, and foster a collaborative environment to help team members grow.

  • Technical Oversight & Quality: Review and approve technical assessments, engineering drawings, and production documentation. Identify risks or omissions early, act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, and ensure compliance with client and classification requirements.

  • End-to-End Production Coordination: Oversee the complete internal lifecycle—from quotation support, engineering, and procurement to quality control, assembly, classification inspections, and preparation for shipment.

  • Process & Continuous Improvement: Establish standardized, reliable production procedures, templates, and checklists. Drive structured improvements to reduce rework, eliminate delays, and enhance product quality.

Cross-Functional Interface: Act as the primary interface connecting production with Sales, Purchase, Warehouse, R&D, and Quality Control to maintain seamless operational alignment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: A strong base salary aligned with your experience, background, and leadership capabilities (Starting at scale 10, CAO metalektro)

  • Generous Leave Allowance: 27 vacation days plus 13 ADV days (40 total days off per year) based on the Metalektro Collective Labor Agreement (CAO).

  • Equity Opportunity: Option to participate in our company share purchase scheme upon receiving a permanent contract.

  • Lease Bike Scheme: Option to get a lease bike once you secure a permanent contract.

  • Family Culture: A warm, informal, and international working environment with short communication lines and great colleagues.

About You

  • Education: Higher Vocational Education (HBO / Bachelor’s degree) in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field.

  • Experience: Relevant background in technical engineering, production, or marine equipment, at least 5+ years of relevant experience in technical engineering, production, project management or team leadership.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, materials, tolerances, manufacturing/assembly methods, and CAD systems (or willingness to learn).

  • Leadership & Mindset: Highly organized, accountable, and stress resilient. A natural team builder who leads by example, maintains high-quality standards, and drives practical problem-solving.

  • Language Skills: Fluent command of English, both spoken and written (English is our daily working language across all global offices).

Learning & Growth

At AEGIR-Marine, we believe in empowering our leaders to build long-term impact. In this role, you will have the mandate and support to shape the future of our production landscape.

Over time, you will lead long-term strategic goals—implementing new technical processes for AEGIR-Marine products, improving resource utilization, and driving knowledge-transfer initiatives across departments through hands-on guidance and training via the AEGIR Academy framework.
