As an R&D department, we are expanding to match our sustainable growth and challenge the innovative projects we run. To support our continued investment into our in-house Research and Development program we offer the position of R&D Engineer.

YOUR FUNCTION

This position gives you the unique chance to develop knowledge and help us to drive innovation to its utmost in the field of stern tube seals and bearings. Your work will support our product improvement and new product developments as well as our unique out-of-the-box innovations. As a team player we expect you to tick on the following boxes:

  • Open and pro-active cooperation with colleagues.
  • Execute tasks and projects in close cooperation with internal stakeholders by having a pro-active role.
  • Taking ownership of your area of expertise.
  • Ability to use FEM and other analysis tools/methods to analyze high tech sealing systems, propulsion systems and parts.
  • Transforming unstructured, raw data into usable information
  • Making transparent design recommendations based on big data and/or modelling.
  • Translating insights obtained from data into recommendations which supports innovative product development and improvement.
  • Collaborating with research institutes and universities, translating research results into real world applications.

Vereisten

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in chemistry/material engineering/rubber technology. Graduates are welcome to apply!
  • Preferable you have (some) industrial research experience in field of lubricant rheology, chemistry and polymer/rubber technology or another relevant field.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with commercial FEM Software, preferably COMSEL as well as able to work with MATLAB.
  • Ability to go in-depth when needed, whilst keep on being pragmatic as well as practical.
  • You have a curious and analytical mindset with a natural drive to find out how stuff works and interrelates, so you have a good understanding that help you in building(data)models/doing analysis.
  • Taking in new information quickly and putting it into practice effectively.
  • You can present your results and clarify your analyses with conviction.
  • You have (some) experience as a team player in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • You combine your hands-on academic profile with an practical entrepreneurial mind-set.
  • Since we are growing and innovation driven, you have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances (environment, procedures, people).
